Education

Learning is the cornerstone for promoting independence and self reliance.  We have partner agencies that provide formal classes for specific areas such as job training or adult education, while others provide mentors to assist in a more causal setting including but not limited to prevention of drug abuse, smart decision making and managing peer pressure. United Way Worldwide has challenged all United Ways to help increase graduation numbers in their communities.

Financial Stability

Attainment of financial stability is a building block in maintaining a community that provides jobs that help to promote affordable housing, health care and food. Low income families struggle to meet daily needs for survival.  It is difficult for children to concentrate at school when they haven’t had breakfast or a very simple evening meal the night before. Parents struggle when they have had to leave their home for whatever reason and wonder where they and their family will sleep. We have agencies that provide the tools that are necessary to make individuals and families self sustaining.

Health

Admittance to programs that offer assistance to start or sustain a healthy lifestyle often is unavailable. Whether it is emotional, physical, or dealing with substance abuse, individuals, families and seniors are unable to participate. We partner with a wide range of agencies that fill this void.
