Proceeds from memberships at every tier benefit multiple United Way of Pekin internal initiatives such as our youth education program aimed at personal finance and job search skills. A community wide, searchable resource guide, our annual Day of Action event, and our podcast.

General Membership - $309/yr

Get anytime access to our growing collection of classes, workshops, and exclusive content designed to help businesses succeed. Membership also earns access to in person networking and various community volunteer opportunities. Funds from the Small Business Initiative fund United Way of Pekin's internal programs such as our youth focused, H.A.N.D. Project, United For Alice, United We Prepare, which provide direct support and benefits to our area residents.

    SUPPORT THE UNITED WAY MISSION

    The 309 Small Business Initiative is a way for smaller local businesses to contribute to the United Way of Pekin without the larger, more formal campaign. We understand the challenges of running a smaller operation and how a traditional campaign could be a bit too much on your plate. This is a way to support our mission, your community and help those in need with a hand up.

  • ONLINE COURSE LIBRARY

    Members at every tier receive unlimited access to our online course library. Courses are written by United Way staff, and/or member agencies for the purpose of spreading knowledge to those who may not have expertise in certain areas and could use a simple way to learn about various topics of relevance to small business owners.

    Engage Area Youth

    Participate in our internal initiative designed to connect with area at-risk youth to provide various life skills training. We will focus on providing financial literacy, career resources, resumes, whole health, time management, emotional intelligence, making major life decisions, parenting skills, and how to avoid scams as young adults. This program will be designed and taught in collaboration with members of the Initiative as a way to give back and uplift those youth and provide a beacon of hope.

    BE ACTIVE AND HAVE A VOICE

    As a member of the Initiative, you will have the ability to participate in community action projects and/or a voice in the potential funding of small projects of need that align with the United Way focus areas of healthy communities, youth opportunity, financial security and community resiliency.

    SHOW YOUR COMMUNITY SUPPORT

    All member companies will get access to this digital logo and a window decal to prominently display as long as they are a member of the initiative! This shows your community support and dedication to both customers and your staff to support those in the community who need a hand up.

    There will be periodic meetings, events, and volunteer opportunities open to all members to network and connect with other small businesses around the community. These will include our United Way Annual Meeting, business education sessions, volunteer opportunities, and more.

Membership includes a listing here, a decorative 309 Small Business Initiative decal, annual listing in the Pekin Hometown Voice, invitation to select events. Facebook and Instagram page mention upon membership & an opportunity to have a voice in potential community impact projects. Members will have the opportunity to engage with and develop curriculum for our youth program, teach their subject matter and develop the workforce leaders of tomorrow.
